Hopewell’s Volunteers Participate Coastal Cleanup Challenge | | 16 Nov 2013
Hopewell Holdings Limited (“Hopewell”) and Hong Kong Cleanup jointly organized the Coastal Cleanup Challenge at Angler’s Bay in Tsuen Wan on 16 November 2013 for the first time. The volunteer team consisted of 140 volunteers from different organizations, including 110 HH Social Club members and 30 students and teachers from Hong Kong Tang King Po College joined hands to clean up the trash.
Around 100 kilograms and nearly 2,400 pieces of trash in total were collected in the event, including foam, plastics, metal wastes, cigarettes and ink boxes, etc. The cleanup data collected during the event were recorded.
Through co-organizing this coastal cleanup campaign, Hopewell hopes to raise the volunteers’ awareness of coastal environment protection and the importance of reducing waste. The Group also supports environmental education for school students by inviting its community partner, Hong Kong Tang King Po College, to participate in the event. The data collected is analyzed and consolidated by Hong Kong Cleanup and used to identify the sources of trash and to develop long-term solutions. |
Hopewell Supports World Diabetes Day | | 12 Nov 2013
Hopewell Holdings Limited (“Hopewell”) sponsored the venue of World Diabetes Day press conference for six consecutive years to promote community awareness of diabetes.
World Diabetes Day press conference was held at Hopewell Centre on 12 November 2013. Mrs. Joanna Hotung, Chairperson of the Hong Kong Juvenile Diabetes Association, Mr. Richard Law, Corporate Affairs Director & Company Secretary of Hopewell Holdings Limited and Dr. Aaron Yu, Specialist in Paediatrics, jointly present the unveiling ceremony for Standard of Care to ensure that schools in Hong Kong accommodate developing an “Individualised Diabetes Care Plan” for every student with diabetes.

Hopewell Participates Walk for Nature Fundraising Event | | 09 Nov 2013
Hopewell Holdings Limited (“Hopewell”) sponsored “Walk for Nature 2013” fundraising event held by WWF Hong Kong on 9 November 2013 to strengthen the engagement of the staff on the environmental protection.
The event allowed staff to discover and explore the natural beauty of Mai Po, experienced the joy of bird watching, learned about the importance of freshwater, wetlands and “gei wai” and increased their awareness on the damage of human activities to ecosystem. Totally 29 staff and their family members participated this event and completed the 4 km route. |
Hopewell Participates Run for Red Fundraising Relay Race | | 20 Oct 2013
Hopewell Holdings Limited (“Hopewell”) formed a 8-member Hopewell Social Club team to participate Run for Red fundraising relay race organized by Hong Kong Red Cross at Lung Wo Road on 20 Oct. Participating teams completed the humanitarian race with 4 activities, resembling the scenarios of Red Cross caring for the vulnerable and protecting human life in war and disaster time.
All proceeds raised will be used to support the redevelopment and maintenance of HKRC New Headquarters as well as its services in order to extend the humanitarian platform in serving the needy population. |
Hopewell Supports Dress Special Day | | 27 Sep 2013
Hopewell Holdings Limited (“Hopewell”) supported Dress Special Day organized by the Community Chest. By making a donation of HK$60 or more, staff can go to work in casual wear on the event day. Totally 211 staff from 19 business units / departments joined this campaign.
All individuals, companies and organizations, government departments and educational institutions are welcome to join Dress Special Day. All donations raised through this campaign will be allocated to benefit the 156 member social welfare agencies supported by the Community Chest. |
