| Hopewell Supports The Community Chest Green Day | | | 17 Jun 2012
Hopewell Holdings Limited (“Hopewell”) continued its support to The Community Chest "Green Day". Themed "Act Green & Live Green", the event’s aim to raise environmental awareness of the public. Participants who contributed HK$65 or more received a set of Community Chest Green Day Commemorative Twin Tickets to enjoy unlimited rides on the MTR, Light Rail, MTR Bus and MTR Feeder bus on these two days. A total of 94 members of Hopewell staff raised fund for The Community Chest's medical and health services. |
| Hopewell and Nine Subsidiaries Awarded in the Caring Company Logo | | | 04 May 2012
Hopewell Holdings Limited (“Hopewell”) and nine of its subsidiaries have been awarded the Caring Company Logo 2011/2012 by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service in recognition of their contributions to the community, the employees and the environment. It is the largest number of Caring Company awards garnered by Hopewell at any one time.
Among these, Hopewell Holdings Limited, Hopewell Highway Infrastructure Limited and Hopewell Property Management Co., Limited have received the honors for the fifth consecutive year, while Panda Hotel has been awarded the honour for the eighth consecutive year and received the accolade of ‘5 Years Plus Caring Company Logo’.
In addition, Hopewell Real Estate Agency Limited, Hopewell Centre Management Limited, GARDENEast Property Management Limited, KITEC Management Limited (“KML”), Panda Place Management Limited and IT Catering and Services Limited have also received the logo of Caring Company, demonstrating Hopewell’s commitment to sustainable development.
The Caring Company Scheme, launched by The Hong Kong Council of Social Service in 2002, aims at cultivating good corporate citizenship and building a more cohesive society.

Hopewell and its subsidiary companies are pleased to receive the awards, which also gives encouragement to the staff members. Hopewell has a strong commitment to sustainable development and being a good corporate citizen. In collaboration with community partners, Hopewell supports and organises a series of community programmes focusing on promotion of a harmonious society, environmental protection and youth development. |
| Hopewell Supports WWF-Hong Kong Earth Hour | | | 31 Mar 2012
To uphold the Group’s commitment to corporate sustainability, Hopewell Holdings Limited and Hopewell Highway Infrastructure Limited ("Hopewell"/ "the Group") sponsored and supported one of the largest global environmental campaigns - ‘Earth Hour’, organised by WWF. Six major properties of the Group switched off their exterior decorative lights for an hour, from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm on 31st March 2012. These buildings include Hopewell Centre, QRE Plaza, GARDENEast, E-Max, Panda Hotel and Panda Place.
To further promote the 2012 Earth Hour campaign message – ‘Go beyond the hour, set your own energy saving target’, Hopewell distributed promotional materials to its Green Captains in each department, who in turn encouraged staff members to set their personal energy saving targets and contribute to the environment.
Managing and reducing carbon emissions
To build a more cohesive long-term relationship with our stakeholders, Hopewell has become a corporate member of WWF-HK since July 2011. Hopewell has also participated in their Low-carbon Office Operations Programme (LOOP), which commits the Group to managing carbon emissions and formulating emissions reduction strategies, involving areas such as lighting, air-conditioning, vehicle-usage, etc. Climate change is a major challenge for the whole world in the 21st century. Hopewell will continue to support and implement various measures to reduce the carbon footprint. |
| Hopewell Wins Two Laurels at the Asian Excellence Recognition Awards 2012 | | | 30 Mar 2012
Hopewell Holdings Limited (“Hopewell”) is honored to have received the “Best Investor Relations” and “Best Corporate Social Responsibility” awards at the “2nd Asian Excellence Recognition Awards 2012”. For two years in succession, Hopewell has consecutively received the two laurels, a tangible testimony to the Group’s excellent performance in investor relations and corporate social responsibility. Mr. Thomas Wu, the Managing Director of Hopewell Holdings Limited, has also been selected as “Asia’s Best CEO (Investor Relations)” in Hong Kong.
Organised by Corporate Governance Asia, one of the Asia region’s most authoritative journals on corporate management, the “2nd Asian Excellence Recognition Awards” are designed to recognise excellence in investor communications, business ethics, corporate social responsibility (CSR), environmental practices and financial performance. The assessment and recognition are based on the scores submitted by readers and interviews conducted with investors.
Hopewell will continue to maintain an open and proactive communication with stakeholders, establish a close working relationship with them and at the same time achieve sustainable corporate development.

Hopewell Holdings Limited (“Hopewell”) is committed to corporate social responsibility and promotes smoke-free workplace in its subsidiary, Hopewell Centre Management Limited. Hopewell Centre Management Limited received Hong Kong Smoke-Free Leading Company Awards - Grand Award on 14 March 2012 to recognise our effort in promoting smoke-free messages to our employees.
“Hong Kong Smoke-free Leading Company Awards 2013” aims to promote smoke-free messages to their stakeholders services in order to encourage smokers to kick the habit. An independent Judging Panel, including representatives from COSH, the Government, business sector and academia selected 15 companies receiving the Grand Awards while another 15 companies received the Certificates of Merit with Special Recognition and 181 companies received the Certificates of Merit. |
