Hopewell’s Premises were Awarded Certificates of Quality Water Recognition Scheme and Flushing Water Plumbing Quality Maintenance Recognition Scheme | | 21 Aug 2014
The premises of Hopewell Holdings Limited (“Hopewell”) participated “Quality Water Recognition Scheme” of Water Supplies Department (WSD). In recognition of our achievements in maintaining the plumbing system properly, Hopewell Centre, Wu Chung House, QRE Plaza and GARDENEast were awarded Silver Certificates, and KITEC, Panda Place and Broadwood Twelve were awarded Blue Certificates. In addition, Hopewell Centre was also awarded Blue Certificate of "Flushing Water Plumbing Quality Maintenance Recognition Scheme".
“Quality Water Recognition Scheme” aims to enable local residents and overseas visitors to have greater confidence of the water quality at the tap; strengthen the capability of building management agents to achieve value-added performance in meeting the needs of consumers with respect to quality of tap water; give recognition to those building management agents who can demonstrate consistent compliance of the prescribed criteria under the Scheme; and assist the owners, operators and building management agents to conduct self-assessments on plumbing conditions and to identity areas for necessary maintenance. Continuous participation with 3 years or more but less than 5 years will receive Silver Certificates while new participation or continuous participation with less than 3 years will receive Blue Certificates. WSD has introduced "Flushing Water Plumbing Quality Maintenance Recognition Scheme" in July 2013. |
Hopewell Centre and Wu Chung House were Honored Awards in Yan Oi Tong Plastic Recycling Partnership Scheme 2013-2014 | | 18 Jul 2014
Hopewell Centre and Wu Chung House of Hopewell Holdings Limited (“Hopewell”) continued to support Yan Oi Tong Plastic Recycling Partnership Scheme organized by Yan Oi Tong EcoPark Plastic Resources Recycling Centre. From June, 2013 to February, 2014, Hopewell Centre and Wu Chung House collected 4,174 kg and 1,394 kg of plastic waste respectively and received Gold and Bronze awards in Housing Estate and C&I Building category as recognition of their continuous efforts on plastic waste recovery and recycling.
Currently, over 850 public and private enterprises support Yan Oi Tong Plastic Recycling Partnership Scheme. The scheme encourages the public to participate plastic waste recycling and learn the importance of “clean recycling”. |
Hopewell Supported “Energy Saving Charter” Again | | 29 May 2014
Hopewell Holdings Limited (“Hopewell”) supported the “Energy Saving Charter” launched by the Environment Bureau and the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department again, with Hopewell Centre, Wu Chun House and E-Max pledged to maintain an average indoor temperature between 24 and 26 degrees Celsius from June to September 2014.
The Energy Saving Charter on Indoor Temperature has been well received by many shopping malls, shops, office premises and offices since its launch in 2012. This year, the Government is extending the charter scheme to residential buildings and housing estates. |
Hopewell Sponsors Hong Kong Tree Planting Day 2014 | | 12 Apr 2014
Hopewell Holdings Limited (“Hopewell”) sponsored the Hong Kong Tree Planting Day 2014 held on Saturday, 12 April 2014 at Tai Tong, Yuen Long. This event organized by the Hong Kong Tree Planting Day Organizing Committee is the largest annual tree planting event in Hong Kong. It targets to promote green Hong Kong and raise public awareness on environmental protection, hill fire prevention and tree preservation.
Build a greener environment
Around 60 HH Social Club volunteers comprising Hopewell staff, their families and friends, joined together with the volunteers of various government departments, organizations and companies to take part in planting tree seedlings. Under the guidance of the staff from the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department, HH Social Club volunteers planted around 500 tree seedlings of various species at the assigned tree planting area in Tai Tong to build a greener environment.
Raise public awareness on environmental protection
All participants including 600 members of the People’s Liberation Army Hong Kong Garrison and 350 volunteers planted around 8,000 tree seedlings in Hong Kong Tree Planting Day 2014. |
Hopewell Sponsors WWF Earth Hour for the Third Consecutive Year | | 29 Mar 2014
Hopewell Holdings Limited (“Hopewell”) sponsored WWF Earth Hour in Hong Kong for the third consecutive year. To support this global event, six major properties of the Group, including Hopewell Centre, QRE Plaza, GARDENEast, E-Max, Panda Hotel and Panda Place, switched off their exterior decorative lights for an hour, from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm on 29th March 2014. In addition, Hopewell Highway Infrastructure Company Limited’s joint venture companies, Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Zhuhai Superhighway Company Limited and Guangdong Guangzhou-Zhuhai West Superhighway Company Limited, also encouraged their staff members to switch off the lights at the staff dormitory buildings in Guangdong province during the Earth Hour.
Earth Hour, the world's largest collective environmental action, aims to promote sustainable future by resources saving and reduction on ecological footprint. Hopewell will continue to reinforce our commitment on sustainability and address climate change by reducing carbon emissions.
