Hopewell and St. James’ Settlement Brought the Warmth of Tuen Ng Festival to Singleton Elderly

Hopewell Holdings Limited (“Hopewell”) extended festive spirit by co-organizing the Tuen Ng Volunteer Visit to Elderly with St. James’ Settlement (“SJS”) for the sixth consecutive year, in a bid to spread love and blessings to 800 elderly living alone during the festive time.
 
On Saturday, 28 May 2016, nearly 100 HH Social Club volunteers, their families and friends and volunteers from Hong Kong Outstanding Students’ Association gathered at the headquarters of SJS in the morning to prepare gift sets containing summer cooling gadgets, such as handheld fans, umbrellas, shower gel, as well as high-fibre “Five Grains” rice dumplings specially made for elderly by Kowloon Panda Hotel Limited, a subsidiary of Hopewell. The gift sets were sent to 110 households of singleton elderly residing in various districts of Hong Kong (Wan Chai, Causeway Bay, Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan and Tsing Yi).
 
This year, volunteers were trained with essential skills to communicate with the singleton elderly and identify their needs as well as inviting the elderly to share their successful or unforgettable stories in their life during the home visits, helping them to raise their self-confidence and encourage them to reach out.

Hopewell, Junior Achievement Hong Kong and Panda Hotel Jointly Organized “JA Career Dimensions – Career Check-in@Panda Hotel”

This year, Hopewell Holdings Limited (“Hopewell”), Junior Achievement Hong Kong (JA) and Panda Hotel co-organized “Work Experience@Panda Hotel” again and co-organized “JA Career Dimensions – Career Check-in@Panda Hotel” for the first time to allow students to learn more about the career prospects and opportunities in hospitality and tourism industry.
 
The event held at The CRYSTAL, Panda Hotel on Saturday, 21 May 2016 had over 130 Form 4 to 6 secondary school students to participate. The event invited Talent Acquisition and Development department and hospitality trainees to share their work experiences in hotels. Through seminar, quiz, group activity, role play and sharing, it enables students to understand the trend of hotel and hospitality, experience the difficulties of frontline staff, and learn the problem-solving techniques.

Hopewell and Ten Subsidiaries Awarded in the Caring Company Logo

Hopewell Holdings Limited (“Hopewell”) and ten of its subsidiaries have been awarded the Caring Company Logo 2016/2017 by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service in recognition of our continuous commitment to the community, the employees and the environment.
 
Among these, Hopewell Holdings Limited, Hopewell Highway Infrastructure Limited, Hopewell Real Estate Agency Limited, Hopewell Property Management Co., Limited, Hopewell Centre Management Limited, KITEC Management Limited, Panda Place Management Limited and IT Catering & Services Limited have received the honours for more than five consecutive years, which is the largest number of ‘5 Years Plus Caring Company Logo’ garnered by Hopewell at any one time. Panda Hotel has been awarded the honour for more than ten consecutive years and received the accolade of ‘10 Years Plus Caring Company Logo’.

Hopewell Continued to Sponsor Lingnan University Fundraising Dinner

Hopewell Holdings Limited (“Hopewell”) sponsored the Lingnan University Fundraising Dinner as Gold Sponsor this year. Lingnan University Fundraising Dinner held at Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel on 21 April 2016. Over 400 guests attended the Dinner, it was a great opportunity to strengthen the connections among Lingnanians, the University's friends and supporters from different sectors of the society.
 
More than HK$3.3 million was raised by the event to support the University's “First Generation University Education Fund”, which supports students who are the first generation in their families receiving university education in seizing valuable learning opportunities provided by Lingnan, and for the University's new development.

Hopewell Sponsored “Happy Family Poon Choi Banquet” for the Fourth Consecutive Year

Hopewell Holdings Limited (“Hopewell”) supported “Happy Family Poon Choi Feast” held at Southorn Playground for the fourth consecutive year by sponsoring 1,530 sets of HH Social Club gift packs for the senior citizens and residents of Wan Chai who attended the event. The gift packs contained 5 useful daily care items, such as tooth brush set, Vaseline, white flower embrocation, alcohol-based hand sanitizer and hand cream.
 
“Happy Family Poon Choi Feast” was co-organized by the Community Building Committee of Wan Chai District Council, Wan Chai Methodist Centre for the Seniors and St. James’ Settlement Wan Chai District Elderly Community Centre. It aims to promote family harmony and demonstrate our care to the singleton elderly and the socially withdrawn elderly.
